Franklin's lost expedition was a British voyage of Arctic exploration led by the 59 year old Captain Sir John Franklin that departed England in 1845 aboard two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. All 129 men were lost to the Arctic ice and the quest to find a North West passage around the Canadian mainland.
