Story behind the song
Yo, it takes Santa, elves, reindeer, and a whole team to bring kids Christmas.
Lyrics
It wasn't this Christmas but way past last, A town near Atlanta had flags at half mast. They didn't get gifts and they were so sad, But how could that be, was the town that bad?? Everybody else had what they were supposed to have, Folks come out the house and asked, "Where's Santa at?" The sleigh was missing and that's a fact, Would it take the Legion of Elves to bring Santa back?? Santa's ok, and the sleigh just broke, But the Legion of Elves don't take no joke. 3 Brigades took off and headed for Atlanta, Searching thru Georgia peaches tryin' ta find Santa. Every elf had a rocket attached to his back, And his own navigation called Radar Track. The Legion found Santa in no time flat, But there were still toys left in St. Nick's sack. The task at hand could not be overstated, But the toys were heavy and it made it overweighted. The rockets wouldn't fly and without Santa's sleigh, The elves took toys the old fashioned way. Everybody picked up presents and placed them in a bag, Secured the open end and tossed it across their backs, This was done in great haste, no waste or delay, Then the elves formed lines and headed for the interstate. Folks looked outside and they looked real hard, What they saw was elves, marching down the blvd. Some lost their wigs, some fell to the floor, Freakin' out everybody who'd never seen elves before. Row after row, elves coming across the hill, Fighting off frost bite and a cold winter chill, The cold was hard fought but the battle was won, It took the help of elves, to get the job done.
